The CAGE-OPEN- Translation Project
This is a translation project for the first installment of the two-part CAGE visual novel series created by LOVE&DESTROY, CAGE -OPEN-.
This fan translation is done in Visual Novel Reader.

The Story:
Konno Teppei suddenly loses consciousness on his way home from work in the evening. He wakes up surrounded by ruins and old buildings. He, along with several other men, are in an abandoned amusement park.
An announcement suddenly informs them that the game is about to begin. The rules are very simple. For 8 days, the participants will continue their normal lives during the daytime. But once night falls, they will be forced into the old amusement park as the setting for their struggle to obtain a coin that will win them fifty million yen.

btw, if making a patch is impossible, then maybe you can try using Visual Novel Reader, a lot of vn translation is happening over there, though none for bl games T^T

Sorry, there isn’t. : ( You can hold down the “ctrl” button to skip through the scenes quicker, though!

Hello! first , thank you so much for translating the game, I really enjoy it! but when I get to the choice with Konno in the car during the common route, he always hits the man with his truck. I always get the first ending, where konno is hanged… I tried to pick other choices before this one, but it doesn’t change anything… I would be very grateful if you helped me…

So really thank you for all of your hardwork! m (_ _)m Um, i want to ask question. I know maybe this is a stupid question. But how can i download the english translation as a patch? i already has the game & visual novel reader though i think it’s the old one. And do i need to connect internet when i using the visual novel reader so that the english translation update automatically? Or i can still do it without connecting with internet? Unfortunately my windows can’t get access internet because several problems. I only can connect internet through Mac. I hope someone can answer this question. And i already complete the Nitta Route. I really can’t wait to play Kujo route! the last time i play (in 2014) Kujo still not translated yet. And i really want to play it again now since the translation is completed. π π Anw, thank’s again for your help! π

Hi there! It’s actually not a patch; it’s more like subtitles that show up through Visual Novel Reader. And yes, internet connection is required to update the subtitles — how it works is the subs are all stored in VNR’s cloud. Sorry about that. : (

Hello! I know this blog is pretty old but I would like to ask if the VNR translation still works. I tried using it the other day but whenever I try to update it keeps saying the update fails even though I have a stable internet connection. I can hook the in-game text but well, there’s no translation.

It’s been quite a while, when I played CAGE-OPEN I was just in high school or so. It’s been years since then and I don’t know if anyone will ever check in on this site anymore, but I just wanna say thank you so much for your time and effort and dedication to the program, otherwise I will have never heard of this story and game before. First of all, thank you for the translation! I never would’ve found this game without it, and Cage might be one of my favorite BL games of all time! But it seems like there’s no way to purchase Cage Close or the Open/Close bundle anymore? All of the official download links are dead… I know the remake is in the works but I was hoping to play the original version in the meantime π¦
